Step 1: Make sure that you have the valid tenancy contract attested with Ejari along with the necessary documents at hand
Most entrepreneurs start their company in Dubai with rented commercial property as their office space. So when renewing the DED license, owners must ensure that the tenancy contracts for their rented property are not expired. In that case, the tenancy and corresponding Ejari contracts must be renewed and attested by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority.
Documents required to renew the contracts:
Visa and Emirates ID
Tenancy contracts and title deeds of the rented property
A recent utility bill or connection receipt
The landlord’s passport
Trade license issued to the owner of the business
Step 2: Submit licensing approvals
For some business activities, entrepreneurs should acquire license approvals from the concerned authorities. These approvals must be submitted at the time of the DED license renewal.
Step 3: Apply for renewal of the license
After renewing the tenancy contract and obtaining the necessary approvals for business license, you have to submit the required documents to the authority.
The documents include:
Visa and Emirates ID copies of all business partners
NOC from the local service agent (if applicable)
A signed memorandum of association (MOA)
If it is a branch office, then the business owner must submit a copy of the trade license of the parent company and submit all required documents.
The submission of license renewal can be done using DED’s e-Services online portal or the Business in Dubai app. Apart from that, some of the physical locations also accept license renewal applications. These locations include authorized service centers, law firms, and the DED Happiness Lounge located at Business Village.
After the successful submission of documents, the business owner is issued a payment voucher which is used at the time of renewal fees payment. A payment voucher will be provided within 3-4 working days.
