Criteria to sponsor a maid in Dubai

Responsibility

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs, Dubai or GDRFA is the government agency that issues the Residency Permit in Dubai. The sponsor must submit the following documents to GDRFA, Dubai.
There are many factors that you need to consider while estimating the cost of a maid visa in Dubai. Prices can vary accordingly and the cost will also depend on the kind and scope of work of the maid.
Once the entry permit for the maid has been issued, there is a deposit of AED 2,000 which is refundable. This amount will be returned to you if the visa of the maid is cancelled or expires and the maid has left the country.
Dubai maid visa must be renewed on a yearly basis. It must be done by the sponsor. The visa can be renewed online or via an authorized typist. You have to submit the renewal and medical request application. A medical fitness test of the maid must also be conducted.
The maid visa can be cancelled because of unsatisfactory performance or other reasons. You can cancel the visa by going through any of the two processes mentioned below.
1. GDRFA
You have to submit 3 documents for GDRFA submission.
Submit the documents to the Residency Section of the GDRFA and pay the required fees.
After payment of the fees, the cancellation receipt will be issued and you will get two copies. Then give one of the receipts to the maid. The maid must produce the cancellation receipt at the Airport Immigration department. The maid has to go through the normal boarding and departure procedures at the airport and the visa cancellation occurs at the time of clearance. The other cancellation receipt can be used by the sponsor to obtain the GDRFA deposit.
2. Airport
The second way to cancel the visa cancellation is through the airport. You should obtain the boarding pass for the maid and get in touch with the GDRFA office. Then terminate the Residence visa by paying the fees. After that, hand over one of the cancelled Residence copy to the maid. The maid must produce the cancellation copy at the Airport Immigration department. The sponsor can use the other copy to obtain the GDRFA deposit.
