The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Serbia have implemented Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), paving the way for increased trade and investment flows and private-sector collaboration based on Federal Decree No.(13) of the year 2025 dated 17 February 2025 ratifying the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Serbia, and the letter of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security No.99/44163 dated 14/05/2025 regarding the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Serbia.
A CEPA is a trade agreement between two countries that provides preferential trade terms, tariff concessions, services and investments, and other areas of economic partnership. A CEPA also considers factors such as trade facilitation and customs cooperation, competition and access to countries’ intellectual property rights.
CEPAs or trade agreements are considered to be central to the UAE’s efforts to build the economy over the next 50 years and solidify its position as a global economic hub. The UAE has signed several free trade agreements with countries and trade groups across the world to enhance its position as a global trade hub and major destination for investments.
The pursuit of a CEPA reflects growing relations between the two nations.
